Thursday, March 19, 2026, marks a special free entry day at all Washington State Parks, celebrating the system’s 113th anniversary.
No Discover Pass is required, so everyone can explore more than 140 parks statewide without paying parking fees.
This is an ideal chance for Olympia-area residents to enjoy local gems like Tolmie State Park, with its forest paths and Puget Sound beach, peaceful Millersylvania State Park, or the expansive prairies and mountain vistas at Nisqually State Park.
The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is also hosting “Estuary Mystery” on March 19 at 1:00 PM, a hands-on workshop exploring local ecosystems.
Free park days are perfect for early spring adventures—whether that’s a family hike, birdwatching, or an outdoor picnic as Olympia’s forests wake up for the season.
While entry is free, remember standard fees for camping or facilities may still apply. Read More... |
