FIFA World Cup Fever Comes to Olympia’s Waterfront

The Olympia-Lacey Fan Zone will transform Port Plaza along Olympia's waterfront on Friday, June 19 into a lively celebration of soccer, community, and international culture as fans gather to watch the FIFA World Cup™ action on giant outdoor screens.

The event is part of Washington's official network of regional Fan Zones connected to Seattle's hosting of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The June 19 event serves as the official kickoff of the Olympia-Lacey Fan Zone experience and will feature the highly anticipated USA vs. Australia match.

Before kickoff, attendees will be welcomed with a special performance by the Squaxin Island Tribe Canoe Family, helping set the tone for a day of celebration along the waterfront.

Beyond the match itself, visitors can enjoy a festival atmosphere complete with live entertainment, DJs, local food vendors, soccer-themed activities, interactive fan experiences, family-friendly attractions, and opportunities to connect with community organizations. Organizers say each Fan Zone event will feature its own unique mix of entertainment, vendors, and activities.

The Olympia-Lacey Fan Zone is expected to draw soccer fans from throughout the South Sound and offers a chance to experience the excitement of the World Cup without traveling to Seattle.
